The space between the valance and the curtain, which is installed at a certain distance from the proscenium arch, is closed by two tormentors made in the same way as the curtain.
The valance is made with a knife (single pleat) falduri verticale and the direction of the pleats of each of the two halves is symmetrical, it converge from the sides towards the center, where the coat of arms of the city of Pavia stands out.

1771
At the initiative of four noblemen from Pavia, who entrust the project to
Antonio Galli da Bibbiena, construction of the theater begins.

The theater is inaugurated with the name of Teatro dei Quattro Cavalieri (Theatre of the Four Knights).
1869
The theater was at risk of closure, and the City of Pavia takes over ownership, dedicating it to the Pavia tenor Gaetano Fraschini.

The construction of two galleries is considered, with the risk of distorting the hall layout, but the project is not implemented.

Osvaldo Bignami repaints the ceiling of the hall.
1985 - 1994
The theater is completely restored, with the design and construction management entrusted to Pica Ciamarra Associati.
