Teatro alla Scala, ''Cenușăreasa''

Milan

The curtain of the show is a backdrop made of ASC - Sceno muslin painted with a trompe-l'œil technique which reproduces, however, an unrealistic subject: a curtain which seems to come out of the illustrations of a fairy tale... by Perrault, to be precise. It is a kind of scenographic oxymoron: the illusion of three-dimensionality that imitates a two-dimensional subject, the page of a book.
