Como

The Swiss's choir (Tirolean, in the French version of the opera), on the background of a curtain manufactured with HSP - Tempesta Poly digital printing. First masterpiece of the Parisian period of Donizetti, La fille du régiment is the story in an amusing key of the story of Marie, the sutler of the savoyard regiment in which she was grown, and of her reciprocated love for the young Swiss Tonio, imprisoned by the French soldiers, to whom the Swiss are hostile. The love between Marie and Tonio is hindered by the Swiss marquise of Lauffen, of which Marie will discover to be daughter, that wants to give her in wife to the count of Swingen.

«My vision of the opera is tied up to that of a film of imagination, not certain to that of a cartoon and therefore the cinema point of view was one of the languages I looked for during my work. I wanted to clean the dramaturgy from useless gimmicks and gags ''of a caricature'', with the purpose to return a specific character to every part and therefore to respect the sense of the amusing and clear theatricality by Donizetti.»Notes of the stage direction by Andrea Cigni.
