The grey backdrop is made of COS - Oscurante molton, colour 13.The opera, that narrates the stories of Europa and Asterio, sovereign of Tyre and Creta, was chosen to inaugurate the Nuovo Regio Teatro di Santa Maria della Scala in Milan on the August 3rd 1778, when Salieri was 28.To the success of the show contributed the scenographies by Fratelli Galliari, that aroused great admiration.

Pier Luigi Pizzi created this eighteenth-century theater on the stage of the Teatro Alla Scala using some big painted backdrops manufactured with ASC1000S - Sceno 1.000 cm muslin.

A spectacular mass scene with riding characters and, at their shoulders, a big backdrop made of grey COS - Oscurante molton.
The Teatro alla Scala chose to celebrate the reentry in its own seat, after the temporary transfer to the Teatro degli Arcimboldi due to the works of restructuring, with the same opera with which it was inaugurated two hundred twenty-six years before.
