The Teatro El Círculo is a Italian-style theatre with a horseshoe-shaped hall with four tiers of boxes and a gallery, 1.476 seats.
Amongst the most important of Argentina, it was attended by Tito Schipa, Enrico Caruso, Beniamino Gigli, Richard StraussPietro Mascagni e Igor Stravinskij.
1888
The construction of the theatre begins, but the company carrying out the work goes bankrupt without completing it.
1903
The unfinished theatre is purchased by Emilio Schiffnerz, who entrusts the project to George Goldammer.
Some Italian decorators also participate in the finishing touches.
1904
The work is completed, and the theatre is inaugurated with the name of Teatro de la Ópera.
1943
After four decades of top-level activity, the theatre is at risk of closure and demolition, but it is acquired by the cultural association El Círculo, from which it takes its new name.
2012
The stage is given a new curtain, installed by Peroni's Argentine distributor Stage Tech SRL.
