It is the
HLU - Lucilla fabric (see the characteristics at the previous link) subjected to the mechanical processing of crushing, which gives it a more textured, voluminous and three-dimensional appearance.
The crushing changes the fabric only aesthetically while the other characteristics, such as the reaction to fire, remain inaltered.
The crushing can be performed in the
vertical mode, which creates close creases, more or less parallel to each other and to the fabric selvedges, while the
random crushing creates multidirectional creases.
The
HLS - Lucilla ST can be made up with extremely original results, however it is necessary to keep in mind that the dimensional tolerance of the artifacts is not comparable to that obtainable with the non-wrinkled fabric.
Creasing causes irregularities in the squaring of the backdrops, and their dimensions may differ from those requested. It is therefore recommended to use them with the bottom side resting on the floor.
