Art Theatre Anton Chekhov, ''20th Century''

Moscow

A structure built with 4 large metal arches dominates the stage, here in full light.A backdrop made of BCI - Cinecittā holo grey tulle, dimensions 17 x h 9 m, closes the proscenium and is very visible here because it is illuminated in light blue, while a flock of planes seems to fly over the scene.A RNO - Notturno Rear-projection screen, 17 x h 10 m, dyes by red colour the background.

The stage is now in the twilight.A clock is projected, with the two projections overturned horizontally, on the BCI - Cinecittā tulle backdrop in a light way and on the RNO - Notturno screen with greater power. The upside-down projection suggests that the night scene takes place inside a large clock tower.
The rear projection on RNO - Notturno here extends the perspective of the structures on the stage. On the BCI - Cinecittā tulle appears a slight overlay in movement formed by a series of bubbles arranged in two concentric circles ...
... but the projections alternate continuously.A glass dome with an iron structure has now appeared on the tulle, while the screen welcomes the rear-projection of a perspective of lights ...
... which here becomes an interior with arched windows. The upper part of the tulle has become a glass wall, still a symbol of the cast-iron architecture, which spread in Europe at the beginning of the 20th century ...
... and that was used as an aesthetic common thread of the scenography ...
... which was inspired in it both for the built arches and the projections.
