The
Циклорамы are scenographic backdrops of suitable dimensions made to act as a background to the visible part of the scenic space of a stage or of scenographic installations in general.
They are normally installed in such a way as to form a 180° hemicycle, but countless variations are possible, both for the width of the angle and for the shape in plan.
Their function is to act as a reflective surface for frontal lighting, as diffusers for backlighting or for both.
As well as to show projected or rear-projected images or videos, normally with landscape or architectural subjects.
The subjects can also be painted or printed and their appearance is normally varied with the lighting.
They can be made with all the materials that stagecraft uses for backdrops, the most frequent ones are:
-
ASC - Sceno muslin, also painted or
digitally printed
- vinyl films
for frontal projections
- vinyl films
for rear projections
-
digitally printed vinyl films
-
digitally printed backlit vinyl films
They can be installed on specially made structures or, more normally, they are hung on
Верхние рейки or on
theatrical tracks that allow them to be displayed on the stage and put away easily, making scene changes easier.
